Nordic Healthwalkers Course

Limited spaces left …

Nordic Walking for Health, would like to offer you the opportunity to take up Nordic walking for the benefit of your health and well-being on a tailor-made course for people living with cancer.

The Course:-
A beginner course consists of four sessions, each one and a half hours long. Both the course and the specialist poles are provided free of charge to self-help/support group members living with cancer.

Session 1 – 10.30am to 12midday (Bank Holiday) Monday 29 May
Session 2 – 11am to 12.30pm Wednesday 31 May
Session 3 – 11am to 12.30pm Friday 2 June
Session 4 – 11am to 12.30pm Friday 23 June.

The Course will take place in Stanmer Park, Brighton.
This is an ideal location for Nordic walking. It is easy to get to by car, on local bus routes and near a railway station. Refreshments can be purchased in Stanmer village and toilets are available.

Once the beginner course is complete there will be the opportunity for a group to be formed, so that you can meet together on a regular basis for Nordic walks in the supportive company of like-minded people who have been through similar experiences.

How to register interest?
Limited places are now available for people living with cancer.

It is important that you are ready to take up this activity before starting a course. Once you have registered interest, you will be asked to complete a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire and, if necessary, to consult the appropriate healthcare professional for their approval before being offered a place.

CARERS WEEK
Carers Week is taking place from Monday 12th June and Macmillan is taking the opportunity to raise awareness of the support and information that is available to carers.

As part of this we are keen to share the experience of carers to help others who may not be aware of support available or indeed identify as carers themselves. If you are caring for somebody affected by cancer and interested in sharing your experience to help raise awareness, we would love to hear from you.

If you are interested, please do contact Charlotte Littlejones, Senior Communications Lead for the South East on clittlejones@macmillan.org.uk
Mobile: 07801 307031.

With kind regards

Jane
