We are thrilled to let you know about the Sussex Cancer Fund Community Conference, happening on Saturday, 19th October, and would be so grateful if you could share this information with your members.

This year’s theme, “Cancer Is What We Have, Not Who We Are,” brings together those affected by cancer, their loved ones, and the wider community for a day of inspiration, support, and practical resources. We believe it will be a wonderful opportunity for your members to access valuable support and hear from expert speakers on a wide range of topics.

Event Highlights:

We’re delighted to have some of the leading experts in cancer care speaking, including:

  • David Bloomfield, Consultant Oncologist – Opening the day and sharing an introduction
  • Robyn Payne, Cancer Matron – Discussing pain management
  • Duncan Gilbert, Consultant Clinical Oncologist – A talk on the Gut Microbiome
  • Aaron Knowles, Lymphoedema Consultant – Sharing insights on lymphoedema management

We will also have the privilege of hearing from:

  • Sarah Hurst – Talking about her journey through ovarian cancer, lifestyle changes, and genetic empowerment
  • Professor Melanie Flint – Discussing the effects of stress and cancer

In addition to the talks, we are hosting a range of workshops covering topics such as:

  • Staying active during and after treatment
  • Life coaching for setting goals post-diagnosis
  • Nutrition and fitness for maintaining energy
  • Breathwork techniques to enhance wellbeing

There will also be a marketplace with products and services designed to improve quality of life.
